Vredestein Banden

Vredestein Banden  B. V. is a Dutch tire company with a long history. Tires with this brand name first appeared in Holland in 1909. In 1946, immediately after the end of the Second World War, the company underwent a dramatic shift in strategy. A joint venture between Vredestein and the US tire maker, BF Goodrich was opened in Enschede. Initially Vredestein owned 80% of the capital but in 1977 control over the enterprise passed into the hands of the Dutch government. In 1991, management and a controlling package of shares passed to a group of investors.

Vredestein tires are the product of cooperation between the Company and the leading Italian designer bureau, Giugiaro Design, well-known for its stylish designs for Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Corvette, Maserati, Volkswagen and other famous makes. Since 1968 the Giugiaro Design studios have produced more than 160 chic concepts and prototypes for serial models that have frequently won “Car of the Year” awards. The fascinating and audacious designs for the Vredestein tire treads were created to meet the highest demands of functionality and aesthetic taste.

Vredesteins primary operating facilities are based in Holland; it also outsources its operations to Malaysia, India, Thailand and Indonesia. Vredestein Banden produces UHT (Ultra High Performance) and HP (High Performance) tires. The Companys distribution network extends through Europe with about 30% of sales realised in Germany; the Companys products are also sold in North America and South-East Asia. The Companys recent investments in development and modernization of its production facilities enabled centralized manufacturing of a complete range of ultra-modern, high-quality tires. The company enjoys great popularity in Holland, where it is referred to as “Hollands pride”.
