About theCompanyAmtel-Vredestein Group isaninternational company and one ofthe largest tire-manufacturers inEurope. Operational facilities fthe Group are located inRussia and The Netherlands. The Group currently comprises atotal ofthree enterprises: two tire complexes inRussia (Amtel-Povolzhye, Kirov; Amtel-Chernozemye, Voronezh); atire plant inEnschede, The Netherlands (Vredestein Banden). The GroupsRussian enterprises produce awide range oftires for passenger cars, trucks and light trucks, agricultural, aviation and other specialized machinery, aswell asmotorcycles and bicycles. Amtel-Vredestein has its own research and design centre, raw-materials base and abroad distributor network. Its products are sold not only inRussia and the CIS countries, but also inEurope, the Middle East and Africa. Amongst Amtel-Vredesteinsclients are leading Russian and international motor-vehicle manufacturers such asGM-AvtoVAZ, GAZ, UAZ and KIA. InApril 2005, the Group was expanded toinclude aDutch premium-class tire manufacturer, Vredestein Banden, famous for its unique designs developed jointly with the Italian industrial design bureau, Giugiaro Design. Vredesteinsprimary operating facilities are based inHolland; italso outsources its operations toMalaysia, India, Thailand and Indonesia. Vredestein Banden produces UHP (Ultra High Performance) and HP(High Performance) tires. The Companysdistribution network extends through Europe with about 30% ofsales realised inGermany; the Companysproducts are also sold inNorth America and South-East Asia. The Companysrecent investments indevelopment and modernization ofits production facilities have enabled centralized manufacturing ofacomplete range ofultra-modern, high-quality tires. The Vredestein acquisition was the first instance ofaninvestment made byaRussian company inthe European economy. Asaresult ofthe acquisition, the Groupsstatus has changed tothat ofaninternational concern; the Group also gained anumber ofsynergies onwhich itplans tocapitalise. The Group isnow able tosell Vredestein tires produced atits facilities inRussia through Vredesteinsdeveloped distribution network inEurope and South-East Asia. European technology and the latest advances inmanagerial practices are also now atthe Groupsdisposal. |
