About the Company

Amtel-Vredestein Group is an international company and one of the largest tire-manufacturers in Europe. Operational facilities îf the Group are located in Russia and The Netherlands. The Group currently comprises a total of three enterprises: two tire complexes in Russia (Amtel-Povolzhye, Kirov; Amtel-Chernozemye, Voronezh); a tire plant in Enschede, The Netherlands (Vredestein Banden).

The Groups Russian enterprises produce a wide range of tires for passenger cars, trucks and light trucks, agricultural, aviation and other specialized machinery, as well as motorcycles and bicycles. Amtel-Vredestein has its own research and design centre, raw-materials base and a broad distributor network. Its products are sold not only in Russia and the CIS countries, but also in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Amongst Amtel-Vredesteins clients are leading Russian and international motor-vehicle manufacturers such as GM-AvtoVAZ, GAZ, UAZ and KIA.

In April 2005, the Group was expanded to include a Dutch premium-class tire manufacturer, Vredestein Banden, famous for its unique designs developed jointly with the Italian industrial design bureau, Giugiaro Design. Vredesteins primary operating facilities are based in Holland; it also outsources its operations to Malaysia, India, Thailand and Indonesia. Vredestein Banden produces UHP (Ultra High Performance) and HP (High Performance) tires. The Companys distribution network extends through Europe with about 30% of sales realised in Germany; the Companys products are also sold in North America and South-East Asia. The Companys recent investments in development and modernization of its production facilities have enabled centralized manufacturing of a complete range of ultra-modern, high-quality tires.

The Vredestein acquisition was the first instance of an investment made by a Russian company in the European economy. As a result of the acquisition, the Groups status has changed to that of an international concern; the Group also gained a number of synergies on which it plans to capitalise. The Group is now able to sell Vredestein tires produced at its facilities in Russia through Vredesteins developed distribution network in Europe and South-East Asia. European technology and the latest advances in managerial practices are also now at the Groups disposal.
